About the event

Indiana Statewide Day of Action

This statewide, coordinated campaign is being organized by our friends at the Indiana Organizing Project. Join at one of many locations in Indiana on May 16 in a coordinated protest of ICE Detention at the Miami Correctional Facility. Please mark your calendar now and plan to stand in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors and friends. Some groups will be doing street side sign waving, and other groups will host a rally and march. Keep checking this space as we add confirmed locations and times for May 16.

Quick facts about ICE detention:

  • Over 70% of ICE detainees have never been convicted of a crime.

  • ICE detainees at Miami Correctional Facility report medical neglect.

  • Two ICE detainees have died at Miami Correctional Facility in 2026.

  • Due to Illegal Detention, ICE Detainees have been forced to file Habeas petitions in federal court — overwhelming federal courts.
