Indiana Congressional Map Redistricting (Gerrymandering)
The Trump regime knows that their chaotic actions and destructive policies are deeply unpopular with voters.
They want to redraw voting maps 6 years ahead of schedule so they gerrymander districts in their favor and rig the 2026 elections.
Use the online action form to call or email Statehouse officials and urge them to stand strong against this political pressure. (MadVoters)
For more information and a copy of the proposed redistricting map here is an article from Capital Chronicle:
Millions of Hoosiers would have different representation in the U.S. House under a proposed redrawing of Indiana’s congressional maps that aims to produce a 9-0 GOP delegation.
Indiana House Republicans released their redistricting plan Monday, just hours before the start of a one-week fast-track process toward that chamber granting President Donald Trump’s demand to create more GOP-friendly districts ahead of the 2026 elections.
A court challenge is anticipated if a redistricting plan is adopted. But provisions in the redistricting legislation, House Bill 1032, also would prevent county-level judges from blocking new congressional maps and direct any appeals immediately to the Indiana Supreme Court.
Indiana House Republicans released a proposed redrawing of the state’s congressional maps aimed at producing a 9-0 Republican U.S. House delegation. The draft map splits strongly Democratic Indianapolis among four districts that all stretch far into rural, heavily Republican counties — and it obliterates the current 7th District now held by Democratic Rep. André Carson. The Lake Michigan shoreline area that now makes up the 1st District held by Democratic Rep. Frank Mrvan also is split up.
What is next:
The bill to redistrict Indiana mid-decade cleared its first legislative hurdle on Dec. 2, easily passing the House elections committee despite hours of testimony in opposition.
The bill will now advance to the House floor later this week, where lawmakers will consider amendments, ahead of a likely vote Dec. 5.
If passed, the fate of redistricting will rest on the Senate when it convenes Dec. 8. Though the chamber did not have the votes two weeks ago, it's likely only a few lawmakers would have to change their minds to usher the proposed map through. (Indy Star)
Court fight anticipated
Redistricting opponents vowed to challenge a finalized map but said they’re still tailoring their legal strategies to the draft released Monday.
“It’s a little too early to speak specifically, but I can tell you: absolutely, conversations are being had right now, and should maps be passed, they will be challenged almost immediately,” said Julia Vaughn, executive director of nonpartisan elections watchdog Common Cause Indiana.

Call your HOUSE Rep about Fitzpatrick discharge petition and war in Venezuela
Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) has alerted the House Republican leadership that he will file a discharge petition to force a vote on a Russia sanctions bill. He is VERY unhappy with Trump’s concessions to Russia, and he’s not the only Republican to be so. There’s a real chance this petition could achieve 218 votes, but we need to make some noise about it.
Call your House rep and say:
My name is _____ and I’m a constituent from [zip.] I’m calling to ask the Congressmember to sign on to Rep. Fitzpatrick’s discharge petition that would force sanctions on Russia. Trump’s so-called peace plan, which rewards Russia with new territory, is unacceptable. Will the Congressmember sign the discharge petition? Thanks.
And while you have them on the phone, consider adding this:
I also understand that House Democrats have unveiled a bill that would cut off funding for U.S. operations in or against Venezuela. The legislation, led by Rep. Seth Moulton, would bar the Trump administration from spending money on military campaigns targeting Venezuela unless lawmakers approve an Authorization for Use of Military Force. I want the Congressmember to support it. Thanks.
Call your Senator
As you’ve likely heard, the House voted unanimously last week to claw back language in the government funding bill that could award some GOP senators hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages for having their phone records unknowingly obtained by former special counsel Jack Smith. But Majority Leader Thune is on the fence about bringing the bill to a vote in the Senate.
Let’s call our Senators and say:
My name is ______ and I’m a constituent from [zip]. Now that the House has voted unanimously to claw back language in the government funding bill that could award some GOP senators hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages, I expect the Senate to pass the same bill right away. That provision is an outrage and should never have been snuck into the bill.
